Connect Google Ads
Truefold reads your Google Ads campaigns and daily performance metrics so your paid-search data can be modeled alongside your store and email data.
Google Ads connects through Google sign-in — you authorize Truefold and pick which account to sync.
Before you start
- You need access to the Google Ads account you want to connect (with the Google login that has that access).
- If you manage several accounts under a manager (MCC) account, know which specific account you want to sync.
Steps
- In Truefold, go to Sources → Add source → Google Ads → Connect.
- A Google window opens. Sign in with the Google account that has Google Ads access and allow the requested access.
- Back in Truefold, choose the Google Ads account to sync.
- The first sync begins.
Permissions Truefold requests
Read-only access to your Google Ads data (the adwords scope). Truefold can view campaigns and performance metrics but cannot create, edit, or spend on your ads.
Google reviews apps that request Ads access. If you're connecting during Truefold's verification period, you may see an "unverified app" notice — you can still proceed if your account was added as an allowed tester.
Changing the account later
Open the Google Ads source from Sources and switch the connected account from its detail page.
Troubleshooting
- "This app isn't verified" — expected during verification; continue if your account is an allowed tester, or contact Truefold to be added.
- Sign-in dead-ends on an "unknown error" page — you likely have several Google accounts signed in. Retry in a private/incognito window signed into only the account that has Google Ads access.
- No accounts to pick — the Google login you used doesn't have access to a Google Ads account. Sign in with the right account and reconnect.
